Voxprite – 2D to 3D Pixel Art Animator
A downloadable tool for Windows
Voxprite is a creative tool that lets you draw pixel art in 2D and instantly bring it into a 3D workspace. Adjust object depth, camera angles, lighting, and other scene properties, then animate everything through a timeline-based workflow. Once your scene is ready, export your work as sprites, images, or video for use in games, animations, and other creative projects.
------------------------------------------------
2D Pixel Art Canvas
Draw and edit your pixel art directly inside Voxprite with a dedicated 2D canvas. Use essential tools such as Pencil, Eraser, Fill, Line, Shape, Magic Wand, and Eyedropper, with adjustable brush sizes and zoom controls for precise pixel-level editing.
Create your own color palettes, import existing ones, and manage them directly inside your workspace. Organize your artwork using layers and create different directional views such as Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, and Bottom to define how your artwork will translate into 3D.
The frame panel below the canvas lets you build frame-by-frame pixel art animations, with individual frame control and looping playback, so your 2D animation can later become part of the 3D scene and final export.
3D Scene & Animation
Turn your 2D pixel art into a fully controllable 3D object while preserving its pixel-art character. Add depth with adjustable thickness, extrusion direction and edge profiles, then position and rotate your artwork freely across the X, Y and Z axes.
Build the final shot directly in the 3D Preview with camera controls, transparent backgrounds and adjustable pixelation. Voxprite’s timeline lets you keyframe your scene over time — animate the object, move the camera, change its field of view, and animate lighting properties such as position and color. With Auto Key, changes can be turned into animation keyframes as you work.
Set your animation duration and FPS, preview the result in real time, then export your finished scene as a sprite sheet, standalone image, or video — ready for games, animations, or other pixel-art projects.

Behind the Story
Hi everyone, I’m 30 years old, and my journey into software and design started back in 2010 when I first began experimenting with Adobe Flash. What started as simple curiosity slowly turned into a long-term passion for creating digital products, and over the years I taught myself how to build websites and applications.
In 2021, I founded alter-text Studio, where I started working on independent web and app projects for different clients. What began mainly as frontend development gradually evolved into full-stack development as I took on more complex projects and responsibilities.
Around 2023, as AI tools rapidly started changing the industry and opportunities became more limited in some areas, I found myself looking for another creative direction as well. That’s when I started learning pixel art. I created an Instagram account called wowgars, where I began sharing my drawings, experiments, and progress.
While working with pixel art, I kept wondering what would happen if this very simple 2D visual language could be combined with a 3D environment. What kind of style could come out of that? That curiosity eventually became the starting point for Voxprite, which I began developing around six months ago.
Voxprite is still an early project. There are features I want to improve, things that need polishing, and many ideas I still want to add. Instead of keeping it private until everything feels “finished,” I decided to release it here in an early state and develop it together with the feedback of people who might actually use it. Supporting the project here also helps me continue dedicating time to its development.
In September, I’ll be away for about a month due to my mandatory military service. Development will temporarily slow down during that period, but once I return, I plan to continue working on updates, improvements, and new features.
Thank you in advance to everyone who supports the project, tries it, reports bugs, or shares feedback — whether positive or critical. Every comment helps me understand where Voxprite can improve.
I hope this tool becomes useful for your own pixel art, game development, animation, or creative projects.
